Fraud, Vandalism, Harassment: Manalapan Police Blotter

Manalapan Police reported two incidents of fraud from April 1 through April 7.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Manalapan Police reported incidents of fraud, vandalism, harassment and more from April 1 through April 7.

During a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 South in Manalapan, a driver was found to be in possession of unprescribed medications and drug paraphernalia.

The driver was then arrested and brought to the Manalapan Township Police Department, where they were processed and released on a summons for charges including possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a prescription legend drug.

April 4

A 40-year-old Keyport resident and a 61-year-old Monroe resident became involved in a physical altercation in front of a business on Gordons Corner Road.

Neither party wished to sign complaints, and no injuries were reported.

April 6

An 18-year-old Manalapan resident reported an incident of harassment.

The victim reported that they’re receiving harassing phone calls and text messages from an 18-year-old Marlboro resident.

April 7

A 38-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone tried to purchase an item listed on Facebook Marketplace using a fraudulent check in the amount of $500 in an attempt to scam the victim.

A 70-year-old Manalapan resident reported that a man used the victim’s Santander debit card and bought a set of Airpods Max 2 valued at $585.37 at an electronics store in Manalapan. The man left the store and fled the area in a gray Honda Accord.

A 43-year-old Manalapan resident reported that sometime on March 30, someone used a large-sized rock to break the windshield of their vehicle. The incident is pending further investigation.
