Theft, Harassment, Credit Card Fraud: Manalapan Police Blotter

Manalapan Police reported two incidents of fraud from May 7 through May 11.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Manalapan Police reported incidents of theft, harassment, credit card fraud and more from May 7 through May 11.

A 42-year-old Manalapan resident reported an incident of theft and fraud. The victim said that they were contacted by someone they do not know, claiming to be from their bank.

The victim was coerced into turning over their bank card to a person whom they believed to be a bank representative. The unknown person then withdrew $500 from the victim’s bank account.

May 9

At 5:04 p.m., a 69-year-old Manalapan resident reported that they received a harassing phone call.

May 10

At 10:21 p.m., Patrolman Christopher Capuzzo initiated a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 north for motor vehicle violations.

An investigation led to the driver being arrested and charged with driving their vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, resisting arrest, and obstruction.

The driver was brought to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters, where they were processed and released pending court.

May 11

At 9:46 a.m., a 49-year-old Manalapan resident reported fraudulent purchases totaling $1,500 using their credit card.
