Manalapan Cop Named In 'Major Discipline' Report From NJAG's Office

MANALAPAN, NJ — The NJ Attorney General's Office recently released the names of New Jersey police officers who were subject to "major discipline" in 2025, including an officer in the Manalapan Township Police Department.

On June 12, the state AG office released its annual Major Discipline Report, which lists details for hundreds of police officers in the state. The report covers the period from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2025.

According to the attorney general’s office, "major discipline" is defined as terminations, reductions in rank, or suspension of more than five days.

Pending cases are not included in the data set. Details on the Manalapan officer mentioned in the report are listed below:

Patrolman Haydn Matarazzo

• Other Sanction: Loss of time
• Resigned, retired, transferred, or separated while case was pending: Yes
• # of Days Suspended: 12
• Sustained Charge: Failure of Random Drug Test
• Description: On March 13, 2025, in accordance with the New Jersey Attorney General's Law Enforcement Drug Testing Policy and Manalapan Township Police Department General Orders, the Manalapan Township Police Department randomly selected Patrolman Haydn Matarazzo to be drug tested. On April 28, 2025, the results of the drug test were reviewed, which indicated Patrolman Matarazzo had failed the drug test. Patrolman Matarazzo was suspended immediately, pending the results of an internal affairs investigation. On May 16, 2025, Patrolman Matarazzo resigned from the Manalapan Township Police Department prior to the internal affairs investigation being completed.
