MANALAPAN, NJ — Manalapan Police reported incidents of fraud, theft, harassment and more from Aug. 5 through Aug. 11.

A 31-year-old Manalapan resident reported that they were defrauded out of $5,064 after conducting an online sale in which a chargeback was completed.

A 54-year-old East Brunswick resident reported that Sunday, Aug. 2, at 3 p.m., their cell phone was unlawfully taken after they had left it at a business in Manalapan.

Aug. 6

A 49-year-old Manalapan resident reported fraudulent charges on their credit card and from their bank account totaling $68,149.20.

An 84-year-old Manalapan resident reported that their personal information was used to make purchases totaling $5,325 at a store in New York.

A 69-year-old Manalapan resident reported being defrauded out of $3,640.76 by an unknown actor posing as an employee of PSE&G.

Aug. 7

Best Buy reported a shoplifting incident where a male suspect left the store without paying for $1,049 worth of merchandise.

Aug. 8

A 25-year-old Manalapan resident reported that unknown subjects posing as employees from their credit card company obtained their credit card information and made $109,944 worth of charges to their account.

Aug. 10

A 55-year-old Manalapan resident reported an old New Jersey temporary registration was being used and they were receiving EZ Pass violations.

A 41-year-old Manalapan resident reported that after having their missing luggage returned by the airline, which lost it, they found numerous items totaling $3,930 missing from a suitcase that they had delivered to their home in Manalapan.

A 30-year-old Manalapan resident reported being harassed and threatened via text messages and on social media by someone they knew.

Aug. 11

An 86-year-old Manalapan resident reported that they lost one of their credit cards and the card was used to make $882.94 worth of purchases. A new replacement card was then sent, and fraudulent charges were found to have been made on that card as well in the amount of $826.72.
