• Manalapan park attacker sentenced to 40 years in prison (app.com) — A Freehold man has been sentenced to 40 years in state prison for a 2023 armed robbery and attempted sexual assault at Thompson Grove Park in Manalapan, with no parole eligibility for 34 years under state law. Manalapan police led a multi-agency investigation using witness accounts, forensics, and digital evidence to identify the attacker, and prosecutors say the victim escaped after fighting free and seeking help at a nearby home.
