
A free, two-part yoga workshop specifically designed for cancer survivors will be offered in June at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters in Manalapan.
The sessions will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 9 and Thursday, June 16. Library Headquarters is located at 125 Symmes Drive in Manalapan.

Certified Yoga Instructor Shuchi Gokhale, who trained at the Live Strong Institute in New York City, will lead the workshops. The exercise is appropriate for cancer survivors both during and after cancer treatments and will address their physical needs and side effects through a gentle and balanced yoga practice in a safe and supportive environment.

These sessions will include breath work and meditation for calming and centering; slow stretches with breath awareness for releasing the lymphatic congestion; and healing and balancing yoga sequences for revitalizing and restoring the body.
The workshops are open to all ages and stages, and no prior yoga experience is needed.
A doctor’s approval note is required. Please register at the library in advance by calling 732-431-7222.
Participants should bring a yoga mat (if you can sit on the floor, otherwise a chair can be used) and two blankets or thick towels.
