MANALAPAN, NJ — Released by Manalapan police and unedited by Patch, all crimes and arrests from July 28 to Aug. 3.
On Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at approximately 10:00 p.m., employees of the Shell Gas Station, located at 199 Route 9 in Manalapan, reported that unknown actor(s) had stolen approximately $1,000 worth of scrap metal from the property. Patrolman Jeremy Slad handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
On Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at approximately 7:40 p.m., a 43-year-old Manalapan resident reported vandalism to basketball courts in the area of Oak Knoll Drive. The timeframe in which this incident occurred is currently unknown. Anyone with information regarding this incident is requested to contact the Manalapan Township Police Department. Patrolmen Hayden Hrymack handled the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Monday, August 2, 2021, at approximately 11:51 a.m., an employee of the Knob Hill Golf Course, located at 1 Shinnecock Drive in Manalapan reported that unknown actor(s) vandalized a basketball net on Sunday August 1, 2021. Patrolman Christopher Schou handled the report.
On Monday, August 2, 2021, at 9:52 a.m., a 64-year-old Manalapan Township resident responded to Manalapan Police Headquarters to report that on July 11, 2021, unknown actor(s) used the victim’s personal information to fraudulently open a bank checking account. Patrolman Christopher Schou handled the report.
On Sunday, August 1, 2021, at approximately 8:07 p.m., Patrolman James Guarino conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation on Route 9 in the area of Symmes Drive. The operator of the vehicle, identified as Mohamed M. Sakar, a 30-year-old, unmarried, unemployed, male resident of Old Bridge, New Jersey, was found to have two warrants issued for his arrest by the Perth Amboy Municipal Court, both in the amount of $1,500. Mr. Sakar was also found to have a warrant issued for his arrest by Newark Municipal Court in the amount of $250.00. Mr. Sakar was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and subsequently turned over to the Perth Amboy Police Department. Patrolman James Guarino was the arresting officer.
On Sunday, August 1, 2021, at approximately 6:00 p.m., employees of the Heritage Village Complex, located at 216 Woodward Road, reported that garbage had been illegally placed in dumpsters belonging to the business. Patrolman Reginald Grant handled the report.
On Sunday, August 1, 2021, at approximately 12:26 p.m., a 54-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported that unknown actor(s) had opened an unemployment claim using their pedigree information. Patrolman Reginald Grant handled the report.
On Sunday, August 1, 2021, at approximately 8:23 a.m., a 49-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported that at 3:40 a.m. two actors, described as males in dark clothing, entered an unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the driveway of a Mulberry Drive residence. The subjects did not remove any items from the vehicle before leaving the area. Patrolman Anthony Cascella handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
On Friday, July 30, 2021, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a 53-year-old Manalapan Township resident responded to Manalapan Police Headquarters to report that unknown actor(s) had opened an unemployment claim using their pedigree information. Patrolman Charles Alaimo handled the report.
On Friday, July 30, 2021, at approximately 3:45 p.m., a 73-year-old Manalapan Township resident responded to Manalapan Police Headquarters to report that during the morning hours of Tuesday, July 27, 2021, unknown actor(s) gained entry into the victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed the victim’s credit cards while it was parked at a Longwood Drive residence. The unknown actor(s) then proceeded to utilize the credit cards to complete fraudulent purchases totaling $1,850 Patrolman Christopher Oleksy handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
On Friday, July 30, 2021, at approximately 12:12 p.m., a 61-year-old Manalapan Township resident responded to Manalapan Police Headquarters to report that on June, 9, 2021, unknown actor(s) used the victim’s personal information to fraudulently open a CHASE bank checking account. No monetary loss was reported as a result of this incident. Patrolman Jean Letts handled the report.
On Friday, July 30, 2021, at approximately 11:28 a.m., a 26-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported a vehicle was broken into sometime during the overnight hours while parked at a Heather drive residence. A wallet and its contents valued at $445 were removed from the vehicle. Patrolman Christopher Schou handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
On Thursday, July 29, 2021, at approximately 1:49 p.m., employees of the CVS store, located at 253 Gordon’s Corner Road, reported that a black male entered the store and removed several over the counter medications valued at $2,452.01. The medications were placed into two “Happy Birthday” gift bags before the suspect left the store, setting off the alarm. The suspect is described as a black male approximately 6’ foot tall with a white t-shirt, blue hat, black shorts, sneakers and a blue mask on. Patrolman. Anthony Cascella handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
On Thursday, July 29, 2021, at approximately 1:36 p.m., a 57-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported that unknown an actor(s) burglarized a Mulberry Drive residence between 6:50 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Its unknown at the time of the report what was taken from the residence. Patrolman Jean Letts handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at approximately 4:17 p.m., a 53-year-old Old Bridge resident reported being assaulted by a 46-year-old Manalapan resident. The victim sustained minor injuries and no complaints were signed as a result of this incident. Patrolman Matthew Porricelli handled the report.
On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at approximately 12:59 p.m., a 28-year-old Freehold Township resident reported being harassed by a 26-year-old Chantilly, West Virginia resident via telephone. No complaints were signed as a result of this incident. Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis handled the report.
