Celebrity Makeup Artist

I often see other makeup artists that say they are "celebrity" makeup artists or try to exploit the fact that they have a celebrity client, yet when I look at their work I scratch my head in wonder. In this celebrity-driven society I can understand wanting to be like your favorite celebrities, but I think it is much more fun to be yourself - after all you are the only one of you! I think it is more important to find a makeup artist that makes you look your best, who understands your lifestyle and that natural - does indeed mean natural. 

After 31 years of working with everyday women - and yes some celebrities too - I can tell you that working with everyday women is so much more rewarding. After all every magazine cover, article and editorial picture you see is photo-shopped to perfection. Speaking of which I hate photo-shop and think magazines should not be permitted to use it. Besides being a makeup artist and business owner I am also a mother to a fabulously perfect 11 year old girl - who will never look like the magazine pictures. Why? Because the magazine pictures do not exist. Our girls are trying to attain beauty that is not real.  That is why this generation is more apt to want plastic surgery to try to look like the images they are bombarded with on a daily basis. I have worked on famous faces - they look as good as most of my clients - if we all had a makeup artist, hair stylist and a clothing stylist at our disposal we would look fabulous at every event also - and most of my clients do! But it is the pictures the paparazzi catch that tell the true story - and the ones I attached to this article.  The ones that were not altered to show the celebrities in the best possible light. However, these were taken at special events - one was on her wedding day!  The makeup artists that did these celebrities can claim they are celebrity makeup artists - which is why to me and hopefully now to you, that doesn't mean much!
