What upsets you about the children's entertainment industry?

Are parties for young children frustrating to you as a parent? Are you looking forward to planning your child's party or are you just dreading it?

My name is Dylan Glanzer and I have been an entertainer for just about my whole life.  For the past 20 years, my company, Parties by Dylan & Company, has been providing musical entertainment mainly for children under 5 years old.  Our entertainers play guitar, sing, and play a variety of age-appropriate games for mixed age group of young children.  I love my job.  I  mean, who wouldn't?

My question is to all the parents in our area:  What is it that frustrates you about the kid entertainment industry?  What types of entertainment have you used?  Did they meet your expectations?  What types of kids parties have you been to and how did you feel while you were there?  Did the kids have fun?  Did you??  Are all the adults standing around bored to tears?  I really want to know!

What frustrates me is that there were so few choices when my children were little!  I didn't want to go to the same old place that all their friends used only to stand around while the kids went crazy!  I also tried to do the entertainment myself to save money a few times, and while the kids did have fun with my musical hyjinx, I was exhausted worrying about my guests enjoyment while I was busy "playing!"  I don't recommend adding "entertainer" to the hostess plate, even if you're a professional.
