Attempted Child Luring in Englishtown, Police Report
A teenager said a man in a red sedan offered to give him a ride Thursday as the teen walked home from the bus, police said.

ENGLISHTOWN, NJ - The Englishtown Police Department is currently investigating an attempted child luring that occurred late Thursday afternoon, the police said on their Facebook page.
The incident happened on Lasatta Avenue in the area of the Knights of Columbus, police said. A high school-aged child was walking home on Lasatta Avenue Thursday afternoon after being dropped off by the school bus. As he was walking home, a red sedan driven by an older white man with white hair and a beard asked him if he wanted a ride. The teen said "no," and the man drove off and turned into a local apartment complex.
When the child arrived home, he told someone and the police were notified. Officers and a detective responded to the area, but the older man and red sedan were no longer in the area. A thorough search of the apartment complex was conducted with negative results.
