Children Enjoy a "Magical" Night in the Park

More than 100 children and parents enjoyed a magical evening Tuesday, July 5, thanks to Manalapan Parks and Recreation’s Night Recreation program. John Carlson entertained the crowd with a 45-minute magic show that encouraged the children’s participation.

The Night Recreation program, which features free children’s theater performances every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. throughout July, gives families the chance to enjoy a nice night out in the park with free entertainment.  

John Carlson, a magician with more than 25 years of experience, is part of a fantastic group of well-known entertainers who help make the free program a success.  

“John is a great performer,” said Jamie R. of Manalapan who took his wife and two children out to see the show. “We hired him for our child’s birthday party so we knew we’d be in for a great show here in the park.” 

Families with children of all ages looking for something fun to do on Tuesdays in July and early August are invited to come out for these free events, each averaging 45 minutes in length.

All Night Recreation programs take place at the Manalapan Center, 120 Route 522, in the Kuschick Pavilion, with the exception of The Lizard Guys, which will be held in the Municipal Building Court Room. Children ages four to 10 are also invited to participate in Children’s Arts & Crafts on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. through July 28.
