Fatal Shooting In Manalapan After Report Of Fight: Cops (UPDATED)
A fight and fatal shooting led to a criminal probe that closed roads in this Jersey Shore town this weekend, police said.
MANALAPAN – Prosecutors have been investigating a fatal shooting that happened after a fight was reported in this Jersey Shore community this weekend, police said.
Narisco Rodriguez, 43, was shot in Manalapan Saturday night and then transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
The shooting at approximately 9:34 p.m. when the Manalapan Police Department received a call regarding a fight at 25 Fawn Run in Manalapan, according to the MCPO.

Several minutes later, the Manalapan Police Department received another call for a confirmed shooting victim. Manalapan police responded and discovered Rodriguez, the MCPO said.
"We believe this was an isolated incident and there is no further danger to the public," the MCPO said. "The investigation is active and ongoing at this time."

Neighbors told News12 police arrested two suspects, a man and a woman, on Saturday in connection with the gunshots.
On Saturday night, police reported that an active criminal investigation was going on in the area of Pension Road and Union Hill Road in Manalapan.
"Avoid area... multiple law enforcement vehicles in area, numerous roads closed," the department said on Twitter on Saturday night.
On Sunday, police said: "Because of the hard work of the men and women of the MTPD, there is NO THREAT to the community after last night’s police activity. The incident has been resolved."
A neighbor told News12 he heard several shots fired in Manalapan, prompting a large police presence in the area. A section of road was blocked off in front of 25 Fawn Run, the report said.
The neighbor, who lives on Pension Road, told News12 he heard several gunshots between 9:20 p.m. and 9:40 p.m., and then saw six police squad cars as well as a helicopter hovering over the area for 20 minutes.
CORRECTION: The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office incorrectly identified the victim. His name is Narisco Rodriguez.
