Dad Charged With Murder In Englishtown Boy's Death: Prosecutor

Christopher Gregor, 29, was charged with the murder of his 6-year-old son.

ENGLISHTOWN, NJ — A Middlesex County man has been charged with murder after the death of his 6-year-old son last April at his former home in Barnegat, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office announced Wednesday.

Christopher Gregor, 29, who now lives in Monroe Township, was arrested on Wednesday, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. He is being held at the Ocean County Jail in Toms River.

Gregor had previously been charged with endangering the welfare of the child and was later freed pending trial under New Jersey Bail Reform, Billhimer said.

The boy was identified by his mother, Breanna Micciolo, as Corey Micciolo and lived in Englishtown with her.

The Ocean County medical examiner in April 2021 ruled Corey Micciolo died of injuries he sustained due to blunt force trauma. The investigation found Gregor had "committed acts of abuse against the child in Barnegat Township on March 20, 2021," Billhimer said.

Billhimer said the murder charge resulted from a March 3, 2022, report by an expert witness who said the boy died as a result of blunt force impact of the chest and abdomen, and "determined the manner of the child's death to be homicide."

C0rey's mother, Breanna Micciolo, of Englishtown, took to the internet and said that, for two years, she had "begged child protective services to help me get him away from his abuser."

In a Change.org petition, Breanna said: "No one listened or helped, the day before he died I asked a judge through an emergent order to allow me to have full custody pending a [New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency] investigation outcome. That judge denied it and the very next day my son was gone."

Jersey Shore Online reported Breanna had also noted incidents of a busted lip, fingerprint markings and blood pooled at the bottom of the child's eyes after visits with his father. "He would tell us that his dad hit him, or he was trying to get away from his dad," Breanna told the publication.
