Did You Get This Call? It’s A Scam, Says Manalapan PD

An anonymous caller has attempted to solicit personal information from at least one area resident, according to Manalapan police.

MANALAPAN, NJ – The Manalapan Police Department warns that an anonymous caller could be soliciting personal health care information from area residents. At least one individual has reported a fraudulent call from a caller claiming to be associated with Manalapan police, according to a July 1 statement released on social media.

Wednesday’s post reported that a Manalapan resident recently received a phone call from a caller claiming to be working on behalf of the local police department. The caller proceeded to ask for personal information regarding the recipient’s health insurance and benefits.

“We want our residents to know that we at the Manalapan Township Police Department never solicit your personal health care information via the phone,” the post reads.

“Please be mindful of potential scammers that are out there, especially any unsolicited calls you may received [sic]. Always verify to whom you are providing any of your personal information to."
