'Drive-By Dunk Challenge' Damages Manalapan Car
The 'Drive-By Dunk Challenge' has hit Manalapan. And caused some property damage, police say.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Well, it appears the Drive-By Dunk Challenge has hit Manalapan. And caused a little unintentional property damage with it.
This past Friday, August 4, a 64-year-old Mercer Lane resident called police to report damage to his vehicle while it was parked in his driveway. The car's owner told police someone knocked over his basketball goal post, causing it to collapse onto his car.
"The incident may be part of a popular social media trend known as the 'Drive-by Dunk Challenge,' where subjects pass a residence and attempt to slam dunk objects in their basketball hoop," warned Manalapan police in their weekly blotter. The Drive-By Dunk Challenge is making the rounds on social media, where teenagers drive past a house with a basketball hoop, run up, attempt a slam dunk in their driveway and then get back in their car and speed off.
