Englishtown Woman Hit by Car Crossing Gordons Corner Road​

She was struck by a Red Dodge Avenger driven by a 59-year-old Manalapan man turning right off Main Street.

ENGLISHTOWN, NJ - A 23-year-old Englishtown woman was hit by a car last Monday night on Gordons Corner Road, Englishtown police report. At approximately 10:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, she was struck by a Red Dodge Avenger driven by a 59-year-old Manalapan man after he made a right turn from Main Street onto Gordons Corner Road, police said.

Although the area was well lit by street lights, the Manalapan man said he did not see her because she was wearing all dark clothing and was also crossing Gordons Corner mid-block about 50 feet from the designated crosswalk. At the time of the collision, she was wearing a black hoodie, black jeans and black shoes. After speaking with a witness and reviewing video security footage, Englishtown police decided not to issue any charges to the driver.

The woman sustained minor cuts and bruises and was complaining of pain in her leg, and she was taken to Centra-State Medical Center for evaluation and treatment. She was issued a citation for Failure to Cross at Designated Crosswalk.
