Author Talk: Monmouth Court House by Joe Bilby and Katherine Bilby Jenkins

Join the authors for a discussion of their current book, Monmouth Court House, which describes the importance of the Battle of Monmouth to the Revolutionary War, how it came to be and its influence on the course of American History. They address the battle in context of the American Revolution and address the civil war that erupted between the Tories and Whigs in New Jersey at that time. The authors address the folklore of the battle of Monmouth including the story of the “real Molly Pitcher.”

They also address the use of the battleground as a Civil War muster-in camp and current efforts at battle ground archeology and how they have changed current understanding of the battle.
