Novel Destinations: Asian Tea Experience - Japan and China

Tea in China and Japan is enjoyed in many forms from a simple bowl of tea to the beautiful and intricate tea ceremony. Learn about everyday tea drinking, the Chinese tea ceremony – gong fu cha, and the Japanese tea ceremony – cha-no-yu.  There will be a tea-making demonstration, and a selection of Asian tea implements will be on display.

Presenter Judith Krall–Russo is a tea expert and historian who began studying the customs and traditions of this universal beverage 30 years ago and has earned certifications as a Tea Specialist by The Tea School in Pomfret, Connecticut and The Specialty Tea Institute of New York. Krall-Russo is currently studying the Japanese Tea Ceremony at the Uresenke Chanoyo Center and gong fu Chinese tea ceremony at The Tea Gallery, both in New York City.
