Enjoy Tartuffe, live - the way it was meant to be experienced - staged by the cast of the Next Stage Ensemble. Molière relates the story of an attempt by an incorrigible hypocrite, to destroy the domestic happiness of a citizen who, charmed by Tartuffe's seeming piety, has received him as a prominent guest. This playful adaptation of Moliere's classic comedy sharply satirizes blind hypocrisy, religious piety, and deceit in irreverent rhymed verse.
Performed by the Next Stage Ensemble, one of the divisions of The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's Summer Professional Training Program, created to foster the work of early career actors and to train them in ensemble-based performance techniques.
