Silent Film with Live Piano Accompaniment by Stuart Oderman - "Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror"
Celebrate Thomas Edison's invention of movie film technology with a showing of the classic silent 1922 film, "Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror" with live accompaniment by pianist Stuart Oderman.
Actor Max Schreck's performance as the bald, bat-eared, close-fanged Orlok remains one of the most frightening film characters in history.
Stuart Oderman, the NYC's Museum of Modern Art's senior piano accompanist, as well as composer, author, and champion of silent and early sound era films, will share his talent as the musical voice of this classic film. Recently profiled in "The New York Times," and interviewed on radio WNYC, a filmed biography of Oderman has been shown at the 92nd Street Y to sold out crowds.
The film will be shown with German intertitles and English subtitles. It is unrated and runs 93 minutes.
