So You Want to be a... Dancer? Meet the Rahway Dance Theatre

Dancers from the Rahway Dance Theatre present An Introduction to Modern Dance.

The dancers will begin by bringing aspiring and interested audience members on stage to teach them simple steps. The dancers will then perform using some of the steps the audience just learned. This hands-on approach to dance will entertain and educate the audience about modern dance and dispel some of the myths about dance. Audience participation is for ages 5 and all the way up, and a question and answer session follows. 

Rahway Dance Theatre's mission is to introduce and educate the local communities, the value of dance in every day life. Dancers trained at the Rahway Theatre have gone on to dance with Alvin Ailey and study at Julliard. Rahway Dance Theatre is led by Jay Skeete-Lee who herself danced with the Dance Theatre of Harlem.
