Girl, 8, Injured in Monmouth County Dirt Bike Accident
BREAKING: An 8-year-old girl was accidentally struck by her brother in a dirt bike accident Sunday in Manalapan Township.

MANALAPAN, NJ - An 8-year-old girl suffered internal injuries when she was accidentally struck by her brother in a dirt bike accident Sunday in Manalapan Township, police said. At approximately 5:08 p.m. Sunday, Manalapan police got a 911 call about an accident involving a dirt bike and an 8-year-old girl on Stonebridge Court.
The boy, 16, was riding a dirt bike in his back yard when his 8-year-old sister ran out in front of him and was accidentally struck, Captain Thomas Barstow of the Manalapan police said. The girl was flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center by MONOC medevac. She sustained internal injuries, but they were determined to be non-life threatening, Capt. Barstow said. The boy sustained an abrasion to his arm and did not require medical treatment.
Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid Squad, Millstone First Aid Squad, MONOC paramedics and Manalapan Fire Company all responded to the call.
