MANALAPAN, NJ - A handgun was stolen from a Manalapan Township home last week and has not yet been recovered.

Last Friday morning, Jan. 27, police were called to a Justin Way residence for a report of a theft. The gun's owner, a 28-year-old Manalapan resident, said that sometime between 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday morning, someone removed a Kimber 1911 handgun and magazine containing .45 Caliber ammunition from the residence. The handgun has an estimated value of $900.20.

Coincidentally, during the course of the investigation, a 29-year-old unemployed, divorced, male Manalapan resident was found to have a $500 warrant issued by the Brick Township Municipal Court. He was arrested and turned over to the Brick Township Police Department. The gun, however, has not been recovered and no arrests have been made in the theft.
