MANALAPAN, NJ — Rejoice if you like shopping at HomeSense, or have ever wanted to shop there! That's because a Homesense will soon be opening in the Rt. 9 Manalapan EpiCenter, the area's major shopping complex anchored by the Wegmans.

A Homesense will be moving into the former Sports Authority store in the EpiCenter, the Asbury Park Press first reported. HomeSense is renovating a 19,0000-square-foot space, they reported.

However, Homesense declined to confirm their opening to the Asbury Park Press, and said an opening date has not been established.

"Although we appreciate your inquiry, Homesense has not announced a new store in the Manalapan NJ area," the company said. "Generally speaking, it is our practice not to announce store openings until close to an intended opening date."

Homesense, a furniture and home decor store operating under the umbrella of TJX Companies (Marshalls, HomeGoods, TJ Maxx), was described by Cosmopolitan magazine, in this 2017 article, as "HomeGoods on steroids."

Cosmopolitan reports they have fewer knickknacks than HomeGoods, and a much bigger furniture section, as well as an area called "the general store," which offers everything from bath tubs to wallpaper, doorknobs and fabrics. They have a seasonal section, a large lighting section and interestingly, they have a full section for books.

There is another Homesense in Monmouth County, in the Seaview Square shopping center in Ocean.
