JCP&L Drone To Inspect Manalapan Transmission Lines Wednesday
This drone will be flying near - but will maintain a safe distance from - transmission lines in the township, officials said.
MANALAPAN, NJ - An aerial drone will be flying close to transmission lines in the region this week as part of a transmission line inspection, according to township officials.
FirstEnergy, the parent company of power authority JCP&L, will be utilizing a drone to patrol and inspect the transmission lines in Manalapan, officials said in a statement on social media Tuesday.
“This drone will be flying near, but will maintain a safe distance from the transmission line,” the statement reads. The inspection is anticipated to last from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
