Kids 12 and under ride free on NY Waterway ferries between New Jersey and Manhattan from July 7 through Labor Day, September 1.

Ferries allow families to avoid gridlock and expensive Manhattan parking rates. At the beautiful ferry terminal at Port Imperial in Weehawken, NJ, knowledgeable customer service people can help customers make their travel purchases and advise them on the best ways to enjoy the city.

It takes less than 10 minutes to cross the Hudson River from Port Imperial, Lincoln Harbor or 14th Street in Hoboken to West 39th Street in Manhattan, and takes less than 25 minutes to cross from these New Jersey terminals to Lower Manhattan. The trip from Edgewater to 39th Street takes 13 minutes and the trip from Belford to Lower Manhattan or Midtown takes less and an hour.

Comfortable ferries have the best on-time performance of any mass transit in the region.  Service between Port Imperial, Lincoln Harbor or 14th Street in Hoboken and 39th Street operates all day seven days a week.   Edgewater and Belford service is available during weekday morning and evening rush hours.
