Lock Your Cars, Says Manalapan PD: Vehicle Burglary Reported
One car burglary – in which items are removed from a vehicle's interior – and a possible attempt at one has been reported in Manalapan.
MANALAPAN, NJ – The Manalapan Police Department’s latest blotter includes reports of a car burglary and a possible attempted vehicle burglary.
At approximately 9:17 p.m. on June 30, patrols responded to a Manalapan resident claiming that an unknown individual or individuals entered his vehicle and removed a wallet. The wallet was later located near the Crystal Court home and was returned to the resident.
A similar incident was reported on June 27 as police responded to a suspicious incident on Burke Street. A 35-year-old resident reported that he caught a suspicious male on his surveillance camera who appeared to be trying to open vehicle doors.

The individual is described as a white male and approximately 25 to 30 years old. The subject was wearing a black shirt, shorts and black sneakers while carrying a backpack.
Both cases are currently under investigation. Anyone with information about either incident is asked to contact the Manalapan Township Police Department.

Manalapan police reminds residents to always lock vehicles, even when parked on a private driveway. The department also urges individuals to never leave keys or visible valuable items in cars.
“Manalapan Township Residents and Visitors - we have recently experienced several "Car Burglaries", (items removed from your vehicles interior),” the department wrote in a June 11 post on social media. “All of these incidents occurred overnight and the vehicles had been left open & unlocked. We ask that you remember to remove your keys from your vehicle and lock it when leaving it unattended. Thank you for your help, be healthy and safe!”
