Man Charged For Giving Fake Name During His Drug Arrest: Manalapan Police

The Trenton man lied about his name and date of birth after being found by police with drugs.

MANALAPAN, NJ-- A Trenton man was arrested in Manalapan for marijuana and illegal prescription drugs-- and then giving a fake name to police officers.

The man told police his name was Matthew Williams, and that he was born in July of 1989. The only problem? Police had actually arrested Kangzail Lester, who was born in January of 1993.

Lester was charged with hindering his own detention by providing fake identification information to police officers during his Oct. 29 arrest.

He was also charged with possessing less than 50 grams of non-prescription marijuana for two hand-rolled cigars he had. Lester was also found with two clonazepam pills, stamped with the name "Teva 883," for which he did not have a prescription.

Both clonazepam and medical marijuana can be used legally to treat anxiety disorders, but are illegal without a legitimate prescription.
