Manalapan Resident, 62, Hit By Car On Rt. 33 Sunday

A 62-year-old Manalapan man was hit by a car Sunday while walking along Rt. 33. He remains in critical condition Tuesday.

MANALAPAN, NJ — A 62-year old man was hit by a car Sunday while walking along Rt. 33 in Manalapan Twp., a spokesman for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office confirmed.

It is not yet known what time the accident occurred, but it happened at the area of Rt. 33 and Woodward Road. The man is critical, but stable condition. He is a Manalapan resident, and police think he was trying to cross Rt. 33 when he was struck.

No charges have been filed against the driver, who remained at the scene. That stretch of Rt. 33 was closed for several hours on Sunday as police investigated the accident scene.
