Man Killed In Fatal Monroe Twp. Crash Monday: Report
There was a collision on Applegarth Rd. Monday, when a Monroe resident crossed over the yellow line and hit a car head-on, cops said.

MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Springfield man was killed and his wife was seriously injured in a crash on Applegarth Road in Monroe Twp. Monday, according to MyCentralJersey.com.
The crash occurred at 5:11 p.m. as he was driving south on Applegarth Road near Lilac Road, according to the report.
Karam Awad, 56, was driving a 2006 Lincoln Town Car south on Applegarth Road when they were hit by a 2006 Infiniti G3, which was traveling north on Applegarth Road and crossed over the double line into oncoming traffic, police said. The two cars hit head on.

The Infiniti was driven by a local Monroe Twp. resident, Sahil Parikh, 26, according to the news article.
All three were rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.

Awad was pronounced dead Monday night; his wife, 52, was seriously injured. Samaan suffered serious injuries, as well, but he was treated and released from the hospital Tuesday.
