Manalapan Car Break-Ins Reported

Cars in the Towne Point condominium complex, but also on Stratford Drive​ were entered last Thursday and Sunday night, police report.

MANALAPAN, NJ - Lock your cars, Manalapan Township residents. Police have gotten several reports of unlocked cars being entered, specifically in the Towne Point condominium complex, but also on Stratford Drive.

The most recent break-in was late Sunday night on Stratford Drive. The victim, a 24-year-old Manalapan resident, called police after noticing their car had been entered. The victim said he saw a suspicious dark-colored vehicle parked nearby at the time. Nothing was taken.

A few days earlier, at 7:30 a.m. Friday morning, April 14, Manalapan police were called to the Towne Point development for a report of burglaries to numerous vehicles in the area. Several victims reported that their unlocked vehicles were entered sometime during Thursday night. The cars were parked on Paddington Court, Hampton Court, Wellington Court and Towne Drive. Victims reported their glove boxes and consoles were rummaged through, but most reported no missing items. One victim, a 28-year-old man who lives on Paddington Court, did report that his wallet was taken and his credit card was used to make an unauthorized purchase, police said.

Residents are reminded to remove valuables from their cars and lock their vehicles during the overnight hours.
