Always Best Care Senior Services, a nation-wide senior services franchise, has a Western Monmouth hub located in Manalapan Township that is independently owned and operated by township residents Michelle and Chuck Seideneck.

“What sets Always Best Care apart from other home care companies out there is that we do not just provide in-home care, we’re all senior advisors,” owner Michelle Seideneck explains, who began the business a year and a half ago with her husband. “I really like to learn about the family, understand what their needs are, and address them. It’s a personalized care plan that we put together.”

Always Best Care assesses the needs of a client and decides what type of assistance they need, whether that be residing at an assisted living facility, having in-home care service at an assisted living facility, having in-home care at the client’s home, or round the clock live-in care at the client’s home.

The company helps with assisted living placement, so if a client needs more attention than an in-home care provider can offer, the Seideneck’s search for the perfect assisted living facility to meet their needs - and they are familiar with all of the local facilities and what they provide. Searching for an assisted living residence is at no charge to the client.

The Seideneck’s mostly receive referrals from social workers of rehabilitation centers at hospitals who hire them to determine whether a patient should continue in long-term care, head to an assisted living center, or is healthy enough to live at home with private care.

“Word of mouth to us is the best referral you can get and that’s most of our referrals,” Michelle said.

When seniors are turned away from assisted living facilities because they do not have the funds to cover the cost, Always Best Care lends a helping hand.

“Maybe I can get them something, I can get them state subsidization for home care services through global options - Medicaid. I can look into Veteran Aid and Attendance Benefits and try to get them free benefits that way,” Michelle said. “We really try to work with families, whether they can afford it or not, to find the best plan for their parents. What’s safe for them and what’s feasible, what they can afford.”

In terms of home care assistance, Always Best Care offers non-medical, non-skilled care - which means the service providers are not registered nurses.All care providers have undergone a criminal background check, hands on orientation training, reference checks, and a skills assessment test.

There are also employees who are trained to work with patients who suffer from alzheimer’s and dementia, cancer, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease. Hospice trained aids are also available.
