Manalapan-Englishtown School Bus in Accident Last Week

MANALAPAN, NJ - A school bus en route to Pine Brook elementary school last Wednesday was involved in a car accident and it resulted in all the children being evacuated from the bus.

The accident occurred at 10:08 a.m. Wednesday, March 15 on Gordons Corner Road at the intersection of Conmack Lane, Manalapan police said. Manalapan-Englishtown School District bus #31, headed to the Pine Brook School, was struck while travelling east on Gordons Corner Road.

None of the 34 students or driver on board the bus was injured and the bus was successfully evacuated. The driver of the car that struck the bus was also uninjured. However, that driver was subsequently issued a summons for careless driving.

Both vehicles were towed from the roadway.
