Manalapan Man Buys Pickup Truck, Finds Loaded Gun
Also, a home on Old Queens Boulevard was robbed and there was a DUI arrest on Rt. 33, police said.

MANALAPAN, NJ - A loaded gun was found in a new pick-up truck purchased by a Manalapan man, and a home on Old Queens Boulevard was robbed over the weekend, police said.
Manalapan police were called to the home at midnight on Saturday. The homeowners said that sometime between 3 p.m. and midnight that day, someone forced their way into the home and stole jewelry. The homeowners were out at the time and when they returned Saturday night they discovered the break in.
Patrolman Phillip Accatatta is handling the initial investigation.

On Friday, March 3, the owner of a Freehold Road business told police he recovered a firearm in a used pick-up truck he had recently purchased. He bought the truck from a local dealership that had recently acquired it from an automotive auction in Pennsylvania. The man, 42, from Neptune, attempted to change a flat tire and subsequently found the loaded 9mm Kel-Tec semi-automatic handgun between the rim of his spare tire and truck bed. He immediately contacted the Manalapan Township Police Department,who responded and took possession of the firearm.

A Jamesburg man was arrested for DUI on Sunday, February 28 at 10:20 p.m. on Rt. 33 West. The 57-year-old man, employed as a mechanic, was charged with driving while intoxicated as well as multiple other summonses.
