Manalapan Man Escapes Truck Before It Explodes On Turnpike
A Manalapan man was able to climb out of a dump truck just seconds before it exploded on the Turnpike Wednesday morning.

MANALAPAN, NJ — A Manalapan man escaped with his life after he was able to climb out of a dump truck just seconds before it exploded on the New Jersey Turnpike Wednesday morning.
The dump truck collided with a Dodge Ram pickup truck around mile marker 54 at about 9:53 a.m., according to New Jersey State Trooper Michael Gomes.
The driver of the dump truck, identified as 51-year-old John Corrente Jr., of Manalapan, escaped the truck just before it exploded, State Police said.

The driver of the pickup truck has been identified as 37-year-old Daniel Busby, of Cranbury. Both drivers were hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries.
The accident remains under investigation. No charges had been filed as of early Wednesday afternoon.
