CERT TRAINING

The Manalapan MRC-CERT is offering free CERT training starting on Thursday evening, January 12, 2017 at the Manalapan Senior Center starting at 7:00 pm. The 20 hour training will be held one evening per week through early April.

Following major emergency events, first responders who provide fire, medical and community safety services will have to prioritize the use of their response resources. Individual preparedness, as well as the ability to safely and effectively assist others, allows members of the community to care for themselves until more help arrives.

The CERT program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical (emergency first aid) operations.
