Manalapan Pedestrian Killed In Route 33 Crash

A 60-year-old Manalapan man died after he was hit by a vehicle on Route 33 in Manalapan Tuesday night, authorities said.

A 60-year-old Manalapan man died after he was hit by a vehicle on Route 33 in Manalapan Tuesday night, authorities said.

Around 10:10 p.m., a 27-year-old Matawan woman was driving a 2009 Jeep Patriot east on Route 33 when her vehicle hit the man near the Woodward Road intersection, according to Charles Webster, a spokesman for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

The victim was taken to CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, where he died.

The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed.

The names of the victim and the driver were not released on Wednesday. Webster said no other information was available Wednesday.
