Manalapan Police Arrest Two Driving Mobile Meth Lab: Police

The pair from South Carolina were driving a stolen car, police said.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Manalapan Police arrested two people who were driving a stolen car that doubled as a mobile meth lab, Capt. Thomas Barstow said in a press release.

Randy William Lembcke, 27, and Tara Jeanne Anders, 23, both from South Carolina, were pulled over into a Starbucks parking lot on Sunday on the suspicion the car they were driving was stolen.

Once Manalapan Police confirmed that the car had been stolen out of Chesterfield, New Jersey, they placed the pair under arrest. During the initial investigation, they found that Anders was wanted as a fugitive by police in North Miami, Florida for auto theft charges.

Police also discovered that the pair had been making methamphetamines in the trunk of the car and closed and evacuated the Starbucks as a precaution.

The New Jersey State Police Bomb Squad, Narcotics Unit, New Jersey State and Monmouth County Hazmat teams responded and assisted the Manalapan Police in making sure the scene was safe.

Lembcke and Anders were both charged with receiving stolen property, manufacturing a controlled dangerous substance production facility, manufacturing a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia, and possession of a hypodermic syringe.

Anders is also being charged with being a fugitive from justice, and her bail is set at $482,000. Lembcke's bail is set at $232,000, and both are being held in the Monmouth County Correctional Institute.
