A report of a man walking around a store with a handcuff attached to his wrist was among those recently investigated, Manalapan police said.
Manalapan police recently investigated reports of home burglaries, the theft of a wallet from a shopping cart, and a report of a man walking around a store with a handcuff attached to his wrist, police said.

At 10:23 p.m., Officer Christopher Makwinski was dispatched to a residence on Jared Lane for a burglar alarm activation. During his investigation, it was determined that someone attempted to force entry through the rear window of the residence with a pry tool, possibly a screw driver. No one was home during this incident. The homeowner, a 43-year-old woman, who arrived after patrols responded to the house, reported that her screen and window were not damaged prior to her leaving the home at approximately 5:30 p.m. It was determined that entry was not made to the residence. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact the Manalapan Township Police Department.
At 5:10 p.m. Officer Anthony Cascella responded to headquarters regarding a theft report. A 48-year-old Manalapan man alleges the following: He received an envelope back in the mail from the postal service and the envelope had been ripped open with the contents removed. Some of the items were confidential documents. The incident was subsequently forwarded to the postal service for further investigation. Officer Anthony Cascella took the report.

At 4:20 p.m. Officer Matthew Meyler responded to Marshall’s department store on Route 9, in reference to a theft. A 42-year-old Manalapan woman told police $600 in cash was removed from her wallet, which she had in her shopping cart while shopping. The victim alleged she left her cart unattended and when she returned the wallet was missing from the cart. The wallet was later located but with cash removed from it. Anyone who may have witnessed the theft is encouraged to contact the Manalapan Township Police Department.
At 12:40 a.m. Officer Kyle Earley conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 1999 Nissan Maxima on Route 9 South after observing a moving violation. The driver, Imani Roberts, 19, of Freehold, was found to be in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia. Roberts was arrested, processed and released on multiple summonses. She was given a court date in Manalapan. Officer Kyle Earley handled the arrest.
June 5
At 5:25 p.m. Officer Bryan Belardo responded to The Work Out World, 300 Gordon’s Corner Road in reference to a 18-year-old Manalapan woman who reported being harassed by a 32-year-old Manalapan man. The incident is pending complaints.
At 8:12 p.m., patrols responded to 95 Freehold Road, the Manalapan Recreation Center, for a stolen backpack. Someone removed a red Under Armor backpack containing an Apple iPhone 6 and other sports gear. The bag and items were valued at $729. It was taken from the area of the new basketball courts on the west side of the Recreation Center. The victim is a 19-year-old Freehold Township man. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Manalapan Township Police Department. Officer Brian Schank handled this incident.
At approximately 2:25 p.m., patrols responded to Village Drive in the Meadow Creek Village neighborhood for a report of a theft. A representative from Premier Management Associates, who is responsible for the management of the development, reported that sometime during May 4 and June 4, two copper back-flow preventers, valued at approximately $2,000, were removed from the irrigation system with no damage reported to the remaining irrigation system. Officer Brian Schank handled the report. This incident is pending further investigation.
At 1:27 p.m. patrols responded to a residence on Woodcrest Terrace for a house alarm. Investigation revealed that a white male driving a dark colored SUV attempted to gain entry into the house, but was scared off when the alarm sounded. The man did not gain entry. The incident is being investigated by Officer Jeff Emslie. Anyone with information is asked to contact Manalapan police at 732-446-4300.
June 4
At 2:10 p.m., David Diaz, 19, of Manalapan was arrested after he was found to be in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia while riding his bicycle near Mt. Vernon Road. Diaz was released after being processed at Manalapan Township Police headquarters and was provided a court date in Manalapan Township Municipal Court. Officer Ken Mikulik was the arresting officer.
At 11:30a.m., a 43-year-old Jackson woman reported that she was verbally harassed at 9:30 a.m. by a female acquaintance while at Gateway Farms in Manalapan. The victim pursued a criminal complaint against the suspect. This case is pending court. Officer Kevin Ruditsky handled the incident.
At 10:06 a.m. patrols responded to a residence on Amberly Drive for a report of a burglary. The victim, an 88-year-old woman told police that two people entered her residence by pushing open the front door - breaking a security chain. They entered the vestibule area of her residence, but did not completely enter the home and did not remove any items. Anyone with information is asked to call the investigating officer, Officer Jeff Emslie at 732-446-4300.
June 3
At approximately 5:35 P.M., a 50-year-old Manalapan resident reported multiple fraudulent charges on her debit and credit cards. The victim reported a total of $250 in fraudulent charges on her credit and debit statements. Officer Christopher Makwinski handled the report.
At 11:09 a.m., a 47-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported multiple fraudulent charges on his debit card. The victim reported a total of $171.29 in fraudulent charges on his credit statement. Officer Kevin Ruditsky handled the report.
June 2
At 5:24 p.m. Officer Bryan Belardo responded to the Target store, in reference to a man wearing handcuffs on one wrist. Further investigation revealed Terell Gray, 30, of Manalapan had shoplifted items from the store and was illegally in possession of handcuffs. He was arrested, processed and released without incident.
At 5:23 p.m., a 29-year-Manalapan man responded to headquarters to file a theft report in the amount of $175. According to the victim, he returned to his residence at approximately 4 p.m. to find his belongings missing. He told police he suspected his 32-year-old fiancée took his belongings. The report was handled by Officer Matt Porricelli.
At approximately 9:30 a.m., Officer Sean McCarthy responded to Amberly Drive for a report of theft. The victim, an 87-year-old Manalapan man, reported that $400 in cash was taken out of his wallet which was hidden inside his bedroom. This case is open pending further investigation.
June 1
At 12:57 p.m. patrols responded to a residence on Wintergreen Drive for a report of harassing phone calls. The victim, a 66-year-old Manalapan woman reported receiving harassing phone calls from a former acquaintance. The incident was investigated by Officer Jeff Emslie.
Around midnight, Officer Sean McCarthy responded to police headquarters for a report of assault. The victim, a 67-year-old Roselle man alleged that he was assaulted on May 30 at the Englishtown Auction. The victim alleged that during an argument, a 22-year-old woman grabbed his shirt and twisted it around his neck. This case is pending criminal complaints.
