Fraud and criminal mischief cases were among those recently investigated by Manalapan police.

Around 1:52 p.m., a patrol unit responded to a Manalapan residence for a report of harassment. The two victims, a 45-year-old, Manalapan man and a 19-year-old Manalapan man, advised of a male subject who has been harassing them continually over a long period of time. The male subject was spoken to by patrols on scene. Case pending complaints. Officer Brian Schank handled this report.
Around 1 a.m. Officer Kyle Earley conducted a motor vehicle stop of a 2002 Ford pickup truck for a moving violation. The driver, Iwan Sulimenko, 51, of Howell, was found to be driving while suspended and in possession of controlled dangerous substances, specifically prescription medication. Sulimenko was arrested, processed, then released after receiving two motor vehicle summons and a criminal summons for possession of prescription medications not in a proper container. Case pending court in Manalapan.

Sept. 10
At 3 p.m. a 73-year-old Manalapan woman responded to Headquarters regarding a criminal mischief incident. The resident reported that someone scratched the trunk of her vehicle that day. The passenger side mirror was also damaged. Officer Brian Schank handled the report.
Around 6:52 a.m., Patrolman Philip Accatatta was dispatched to a Heron Court address in regards to a vandalism complaint. Upon arrival, it was determined someone had egged a vehicle between Sept. 9 at 10:30 p.m. and Sept. 10 at 6:45 a.m.. The vehicle did not sustain any damage during the incident. The victim is identified as a juvenile Manalapan resident who related that similar type incidents had occurred in the recent past. Anyone with information is requested to contact the Manalapan Township Police Department.
Sept. 9
At 4:19 p.m. a shoplifting incident was reported to this agency. It was learned that on Sept. 4 at 5:15 p.m. a suspect shoplifted approximately $2,000 worth of merchandise from the Target Store on Route 9 south. The incident is under investigation by Officer Jeff Emslie.
At 3:28 p.m., a 50-year-old Manalapan woman responded to police headquarters and reported that an unknown suspect used her Sam’s Club Visa credit card account information to make multiple fraudulent purchases, totaling over $1,000. Fraudulent purchases were made in New Jersey and North Carolina. In addition, the victim reported that her credit report now displays two addresses in Burlington, that are connected to the recent fraudulent activity on her Visa card. The credit card’s fraud department is investigating the incident. Officer Dennis O’Brien handled the report.
At 10:33 a.m., Officer Sean McCarthy responded to police headquarters for a report of fraud. The victim, a 46-year-old Manalapan man, related that three fraudulent purchases were made on his debit card. He further related that all three fraudulent purchases occurred in Maplewood on Sept. 4 for a total of $1,045.68. Officer Sean McCarthy handled the report.
At 9:38 a.m., Officer Sean McCarthy responded to police headquarters for a report of trespassing. The complainant, a loss prevention officer from Wegmans on Route 9 south, reported an incident involving a customer trespassing inside the business. The accused had previously been caught shoplifting in the store and had since signed a no trespass order which he allegedly violated on Aug. 27. This case is pending complaints with the municipal court. Officer Sean McCarthy handled the report.
