MANALAPAN, NJ — Released by Manalapan police, all the arrests and incidents last week in town:
Theft
On Sunday, August 19 at approximately 9:42 am, a 53-year-old resident of Manalapan responded to police headquarters to report a theft. Unknown actor(s) removed financial documents and property from a residence. This incident occurred sometime between August 13, 2018 and August 15, 2018. Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis handled the incident.
Harassment
On Saturday, August 18 at approximately 3:40 pm, this agency responded to a Gordon’s Corner Road business in reference to a harassment report. A 25-year-old Morganville resident alleges that she was being harassed by a 21-year-old Manalapan resident and 45-year-old Manalapan resident. The Manalapan residents also allege that the Morganville resident was also harassing them. This incident is pending complaints. Patrolman Peter Bylsma handled the report.

Criminal Mischief
On Saturday, August 18 at approximately 11:30 a.m., a 28-year-old North Brunswick resident and a 58-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown actor had slashed the tires of their vehicles while they were parked on Overlook Way in Manalapan. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to please contact the Manalapan Township Police Department at 732-446-4300. Patrolman Jeffrey Emslie was the responding officer.

Burglary/Theft
On Friday, August 17 at approximately 6:00 p.m., a 38-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown actor entered a barn on a Smithburg Road property during the overnight hours on August 16, 2018 and removed various power tools and equipment. The value of the items is not known at this time. Patrolman William Dutton took the report, which is pending further investigation.
Terroristic Threats
On Friday, August 17 at 10:18 a.m., a 56-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters to report that on August 17, 2018 he was threatened by a 64-year-old Manalapan resident during the course of a verbal dispute. Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis took the report, which is pending complaints.
Harassment
On Thursday, August 16 at approximately 5:30 p.m., a 48-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters to report receiving harassing text messages from a former business partner. This incident is pending the signing of complaints. Patrolman Jeffrey Mattson was the
responding officer.
Theft
On Thursday, August 16 at 2:27 p.m., a 44-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters to report that several pieces of jewelry valued at $2,900 were removed from a Debbie Court residence on July 26, 2018. Patrolman Anthony Cascella took the report, which is pending further investigation.
Possession of Heroin/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
On Thursday, August 16 at approximately 7:53 a.m., Patrolman Bart Mattaliano responded to Tarrytown Road for a report of a suspicious parked vehicle. The suspicious vehicle was located and during the course of the investigation, Alex Burhutin, a 23-year-old, unmarried, unemployed, male, Manalapan resident and Bridgette Michalski, a 24-year-old, unmarried, female, Manalapan resident, who is employed as a waitress, were both found to be in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where they were processed and released after being issued summonses.
Burglary/Theft of a Motor Vehicle
On Thursday, August 16 at 8:28 a.m., a 46-year-old Manalapan resident reported that during the overnight hours, an unknown actor entered a Blair Lane residence and removed the key fob to a white 2016 BMX X5, which was parked inside the garage of the residence. The vehicle was subsequently stolen, along with two Mac Book Laptops, which are valued at a total of $3,200. Patrolman Reginald Grant took the report, which is pending further investigation.
Fraud
On Wednesday, August 15 at approximately 1:00 p.m., a 45-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters to report that an unknown actor had fraudulently charged approximately $7,500 to the victim’s cellular account. The victim incurred no monetary loss as a result
of this incident. Patrolman Bart Mattaliano was the responding officer.
Warrant Arrest
On Tuesday, August 14 at 9:12 am, Patrolman Jeff Emslie and Special II Officer Mantas Stanionis responded to Rt. 33 in Howell Township to meet with two New Jersey State Police Troopers to pick up Phillip Curry. Curry is a single 26-year-old Howell, NJ resident currently self-employed as a musician, who was
in their custody for an outstanding traffic warrant that was issued by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court for $136.00. Mr. Curry was subsequently transported to Manalapan PD for processing and was released after posting bail. Patrolman Jeff Emslie handled the arrest.
Theft
On Monday, August 13 at approximately 7:30 p.m., a 23-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown actor had removed a license plate valued at $50 from their vehicle sometime after 4:30 p.m. It is unknown at this time where the vehicle was when the license plate was removed. Patrolman Douglas Zike was the responding officer.
Harassment
On Monday August 13 at 2:48 pm, a 71-year-old female Covered Bridge Blvd. resident reported that she was being verbally harassed by an 84-year-old female neighbor following a dispute that occurred on August 12, 2018. The parties involved have been advised of the complaint process. The incident was
handled by Ptl. Jeff Emslie.
Simple Assault
On Monday, August 13 at approximately 5:17 pm, patrols responded to the Covered Bridge Homes Development for a report of a disorderly person. The investigation revealed that Kevin Kish Jr., a 30-year-old single unemployed Manalapan resident, assaulted a 55-year-old female from Toms River, NJ. Kevin was arrested and charged with simple assault and released. This incident was handled by Ptl. Jason Vigneault.
Identity Theft
On Monday, August 13 at approximately 11:45 a.m., a 58-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters to report that an unknown actor had utilized the victim’s personal information to open Kohl’s credit card, as well as an Optimum Cablevision account in New York, resulting in a bill for $1,301.30. Patrolman Bart Mattaliano took the report.
