Manalapan Police Blotter, Feb. 18 - Feb. 24

Two packages were stolen from a Scott Lane front porch in the late afternoon Feb. 19 and a Woodward Rd. homeowner said he was burglarized.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Released by Manalapan police and unedited by Patch, all of last week's arrests and incidents:

Identity Theft
On Sunday, February 24, 2019, at approximately 12:46pm, the victim, a 53-year-old resident of Manalapan, NJ responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported an incident of identity theft. The victim advised that on February 20, 2019 an unknown actor utilized his personal information and fraudulently opened a credit card in his name. The actor subsequently used the credit card to make transactions totaling $1,248.00. Patrolman Reginald Grant was the responding officer.

Criminal Mischief
On Saturday, February 23, 2019, at approximately 6:10pm, the victim, an 18- year-old resident of Manalapan, NJ responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported an incident of criminal mischief. The victim advised that on Friday, February 22, 2019, her vehicle was parked at the Manalapan Township High School. Sometime between the hours of 7:28am and 2:08pm, an unknown actor damaged her vehicle by scratching the vehicle on the hood, roof and trunk. Patrolman Matthew Meyler was the responding and the investigating officer.

Warrant Arrest
On Saturday, February 23, 2019, at approximately 2:30pm, Giovanni Scala, a 50- year-old, male, married, self-employed, resident of Manalapan, NJ turned himself in at Manalapan Township Police Headquarters regarding a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Fair Haven Municipal Court in the amount of $500.00. Mr. Scala was processed and released after posting bail. Patrolman Bart Mattaliano was the arresting officer.

Identity Theft
On Friday, February 22, 2019, at approximately 3:21pm, the victim, a 78-year-old resident of Manalapan, NJ responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported an incident of identity theft. The victim advised that in January of 2019, an unknown actor utilized his personal information and opened a credit card completing transactions online totaling $1,839.55. Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis handled the incident which is pending further investigation.

Identity Theft
On Thursday, February 21, 2019, at approximately 3:47pm, the victim, a 38-year- old Manalapan, NJ resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported an incident of identity theft. The victim advised that in August of 2014, an unknown actor utilized her personal information and fraudulently received emergency medical care in Florida. The victim subsequently received a bill for medical services in the amount of $689.00. Patrolman Mantas Stanionis was the reporting officer.

Theft
On Thursday, February 21, 2019 at approximately 6:44 am, multiple Manalapan, NJ residents, residing in the area of Willow Grove Way, Holiday Road, and Locust Grove Lane, reported that their motor vehicles had been entered and had valuables removed. The incidents occurred during the overnight hours between Wednesday, February 20, 2019 and Thursday, February 21, 2019. The vehicles were parked in the driveways of residences in this area and all of the vehicles had been left unlocked. Anyone with information related to these incidents is asked to contact the Manalapan Township Police Department at 732-446-4300. Patrolman Kyle Williams handled the incident which is pending further investigation. Theft of Motor Vehicle
On Thursday, February 21, 2019, at approximately 5:30am, the victim, a 47-year- old Manalapan, NJ resident reported an incident of motor vehicle theft. The victim advised that his vehicle, a white 2004 Nissan Altima had been parked in the driveway of his residence located on Tamarack Drive. The vehicle was unlocked and the keys were left inside of the vehicle. Sometime on Thursday, February 21, 2019 between the hours of 4:00am and 5:30am, the vehicle was removed from the driveway. Patrolman William Dutton handled the incident which is pending further investigation.

Burglary
On Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at approximately 1:57pm, the victim, a 57- year-old resident of Manalapan, NJ reported an incident of burglary and theft. The victim advised that on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at approximately 10:30 am, an unknown actor entered his residence located on Woodward Road in Manalapan, NJ. The victim was home at the time and heard his front door slam shut. It was at this time that the resident noticed that several items were removed from residence including two X-Box controllers, an Apple TV box, prescription medications and credit cards from his wallet. Officer Jean Letts and the detective bureau handled the incident which is pending further investigation.

Fraud/Bad Checks
On Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at approximately 10:51am, the victim, a 63- year-old Manalapan, NJ resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported an incident of fraud. The victim advised that he had provided painting services over the past ten years for a construction company and that he was owed payment. The victim advised that in March of 2017, he had received payment in the form of a check for $18,000 from the construction company but the check was returned by the bank for insufficient funds. Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis was the responding officer.

Theft
On Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at approximately 8:00pm, the victim, a 37-year- old Manalapan, NJ resident reported an incident of theft. The victim advised that on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, between the hours of 4:00pm and 7:00pm, two packages valued at $56.00 were taken from the front porch of his residence located on Scott Lane. Patrolman Aaron Abeles was the responding officer.

Fraud
On Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at approximately 1:18pm, the victim, a 69-year- old Manalapan, NJ resident reported an incident of Fraud. The victim advised that on February 13, 2019, an unknown actor gained access to his personal bank account and attempted to make two unauthorized transactions in the amount of $4,950.00 and $148.50. Patrolman Reginald Grant was the responding officer.

Warrant Arrest
On Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at approximately 12:41pm, Yefim Nemov, a 70- year-old, male, married, unemployed, and resident of Elmhurst, New York turned himself in at Manalapan Township Police Headquarters regarding a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1,000.00. Mr. Yefim was processed and released after posting bail. Patrolman Chris Oleksy was the arresting officer.

Warrant Arrest
On Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at approximately 11:25am, Patrolman Bart Mattaliano conducted a motor vehicle stop on State Highway 33 in Manalapan, NJ. The driver of the vehicle, Robin Simmons, a 37-year-old, female, married, unemployed and resident of Freehold, NJ was found to have a warrant issued for her arrest by the Freehold Township Municipal Court in the amount of $400.00. Ms. Simmons was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and released without bail as per the Freehold Township Municipal Court. Patrolman Mattaliano was the arresting officer.

Theft By Deception
On Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at approximately 11:50am, the victim, a 48- year-old Manalapan, NJ resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported an incident of Theft by Deception. The victim advised that she purchased two concert tickets on Craig’s List in the amount of $220 but she never received the tickets. Patrolman Reginald Grant was the responding officer.

Possession of less than of 50 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia
On Monday, February 18th, 2019, at approximately 6:30pm, Patrolman Mantas Stanionis conducted a motor vehicle stop on Craig Road in Manalapan, NJ for a traffic violation. The driver, identified as Desmond Zaffuto, a 19-year-old, male, single, delivery driver, and resident of Englishtown, NJ was found to be in possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Zaffuto was subsequently arrested and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after being served with multiple summonses. Patrolman Mantas Stanionis was the arresting officer.

Criminal Mischief
On Monday, February 18, 2019, at approximately 1:00pm, the victim, a 59-year-old Manalapan, NJ resident reported an incident of criminal mischief. The victim advised that his vehicle was parked on Lincolnshire Drive in front of his residence. Some time during the early morning hours of Monday, February 18, 2019, an unknown actor damaged the side view mirror of the victim’s vehicle using a large rock. Officer Letts was the responding officer.

Fraud
On Monday, February 18, 2019, at approximately 11:47 am, the victim, a 42- year-old Manalapan, NJ resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported an incident of fraud. The victim advised that between November 2018 and January 2019, an unknown actor completed applications for new credit cards using the victim’s personal and financial information. The victim also advised that an unknown actor had made purchases in New York on one of the credit cards in the amount $7,650.00. Patrolman Reginald Grant was the responding officer.

Warrant Arrest
On Monday, February 18, 2019, at approximately 10:00am, Patrolman Bart Mattaliano conducted a motor vehicle stop on Tennent Road in Manalapan, NJ for a traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle, Joshua Resnick, a 33-year-old, male, single, employed as a laborer and resident of Staten Island, NY was found to have a warrant issued for his arrest by the South Amboy Municipal Court in the amount of $50.00. Mr. Resnick was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after posting bail. Patrolman Mattaliano handled the arrest.
