MANALAPAN, NJ – Released by the Manalapan Township Police Department and unedited by Patch, here are the arrests made from July 1 through 14:

On Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at approximately 1:25pm, patrols responded to a department store located on State Highway 9 in Manalapan in reference to a report of Theft. Further investigation revealed an adult female Aberdeen, NJ resident was observed by store security leaving the store without paying for merchandise. The subject then fled the scene and was later stopped by the Marlboro Police Department. The merchandise was recovered and returned to the department store. This case is pending the signing and issuance of criminal complaints. Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis handled the report.

On Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at approximately 1:00pm, the victim, a 26-year-old Manalapan resident from Justin Way reported an incident of Theft. The victim advised that an unknown actor(s) removed a package from the front of his residence that was delivered on July 7, 2020 at approximately 2:05pm. Patrolman James Joiner handled the report the matter is pending further investigation.

On Monday, July 13, 2020, at approximately 1:15pm, the victim, a 79-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported an incident of Fraud. The victim advised that over the past year an unknown actor(s) fraudulently obtained payment from the victim as part of a sweepstakes scam. Patrolman Jean Letts handled the report.

On Monday, July 13, 2020, at approximately 1:00pm, the victim, a 37-year-old Staten Island, NY resident responded to Manalapan Police Headquarters and reported an incident of Theft. The victim advised that on Sunday, July 12, 2020, while at a business located on Wilson Avenue, an unknown Hispanic female removed her cell phone which contained credit cards and cash. The cell phone was recovered but the items inside of the case were not. Patrolman Kyle Earley handled the report.

On Monday, July 13, 2020, at approximately 12:19pm, the victim, a 66-year-old resident of Manalapan reported an incident of Fraud. The victim advised that an unknown actor(s) ordered three model trains from the victim’s online business and then disputed the charges but failed to return the merchandise Patrolman Kevin Ruditsky handled the report.

On Monday, July 13, 2020, at approximately 12:20pm, the victim, a 32-year old Manalapan resident reported an incident of Fraud. The victim advised that an unknown actor(s) obtained her credit card information and made three fraudulent purchases. Patrolman Anthony Cascella handled the report.

On Saturday, July 10, 2020, at approximately 4:10pm, patrols responded to a grocery store located on State Highway 9 in Manalapan in reference to a report of Theft. Further investigation revealed that, an adult male and Morganville, NJ resident was observed by store security loading his shopping cart with groceries and then left the store without making payment. This case is pending issuance of criminal complaints. Patrolman Matthew Meyler handled the report.

On Thursday, July 9, 2020, at approximately 2:39pm, patrols responded to a residence located on Meadow Green Circle in reference to a report of a Theft. The victim, a 79-year-old resident of Manalapan advised that her prescription medication was taken by an unknown actor(s). Patrolman James Guarino handled the report.

On Thursday, July 9, 2020, at approximately 2:01pm, patrols responded to the area of State Highway 9 north in reference to a report of a Simple Assault. Further investigation revealed that two adult males, a 52-year-old, Parlin, NJ resident and a 47-year-old Matawan, NJ resident became involved in a verbal dispute which escalated into a physical altercation due to a road rage incident. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. Patrolman Bart Mattaliano

On Thursday, July 9, 2020, at approximately 1:05pm, patrols responded to a residence located on Victorian Hill in reference to a report of a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. The victim, a 44-year-old Manalapan resident advised that sometime during the overnight hours of July 4, 2020 and July 5, 2020, an unknown actor(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed two wallets
and two sets of keys. The wallets were later located and returned on July 9, 2020. Patrolman Jeffrey Emslie handled the report. Please remember to always lock your vehicle, even when you park your vehicle in your driveway and NEVER leave your keys or key fob in your car, and try to remove all visible valuables!

On Thursday, July 9, 2020, at approximately 12:19pm, patrols responded to a residence located on Victorian Hill in reference to a report of a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. The victim, a 67-year-old Manalapan resident advised that sometime during the overnight hours of July 8, 2020 an unknown actor(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle, rummaged through the glove-box, however no items were reported missing from the vehicle. Patrolman Jeffrey Emslie
handled the report. Please remember to always lock your vehicle, even when you park your vehicle in your driveway and NEVER leave your keys or key fob in your car, and please try to remove all valuables from within your vehicle!

On Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at approximately 8:44am, patrols responded to a residence located on Deer Way in reference to a report of a Structure Fire. Upon patrols arrival they confirmed that smoke was emanating from the residence. Patrols were unable to make contact with possible occupants and forced entry was then made into the residence to conduct an interior search for occupants. Patrols were met with heavy smoke conditions but were able to determine that
there were no occupants within the residence. The fire department arrived on scene and extinguished the fire. The Gordon’s Corner Fire Department, Manalapan Township Fire Department, Englishtown Fire Department, Monroe First Aid, Englishtown Manalapan First Aid, New Jersey Natural Gas, and Jersey Central Power and Light all responded to the scene. Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis handled the report and the fire is under investigation by Manalapan Township Fire Marshal and the Manalapan Township Police Department.

On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at approximately 3:09pm, patrols responded to an establishment located on State Highway 9 in reference to a report of Theft. Upon arrival, the suspect had left the area allegedly in a Jeep Grand Cherokee in an unknown direction of travel prior to patrols arrival. The suspect allegedly had removed merchandise from the establishment without giving proper payment. This incident is pending further investigation. Patrolman Peter Bylsma handled
the report.

On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at approximately 12:00pm, the victim, a 46-year-old Manalapan resident, reported an incident of Harassment. The victim advised that on June 11, 2020, he was harassed by a 64-year-old neighbor. The victim was advised of the process to file a complaint. Patrolman Kyle Earley handled the report.

On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at approximately 10:01am, an employee of Knob Hill Association reported an incident of Criminal Mischief. The employee advised that an unknown actor(s) allegedly shattered a building window and a parked vehicle’s window within the Knob Hill development and near the golf course located at the same location. Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis handled the report.

On Monday, July 6, 2020, at approximately 12:00pm, the owner of a business in Manalapan and reported an incident of Fraud. The business owner advised that an unknown actor(s) utilized the business credit card for several unauthorized purchases. Patrolman Kyle Earley handled the report.

On Sunday, July 5, 2020, at approximately 1:45pm, patrols responded to a residence located on Applegate Terrace in reference to a report of a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. The victim, a 32-year-old Manalapan resident and 34-year-old Brooklyn, NY resident reported their vehicles were entered unlawfully during the overnight hours. Both vehicles were unlocked and no personal items were removed. This case is pending investigation. Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis

On Sunday, July 5, 2020, at approximately 12:27pm, patrols responded to a residence on Applegate Terrace in reference to a report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. The victim, a 36-year-old resident of Manalapan reported that on July 5, 2020 sometime between 12:05am and 12:00pm, an unknown actor(s) removed his Cadillac CT6 from the driveway of his residence. The vehicle was unlocked with the key fob inside the vehicle. This case is pending investigation. Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis handled the report. On Sunday, July 5, 2020, at approximately 2:00pm, patrols responded to a residence located on Applegate Terrace in reference to a report of a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. The victim, a 42-year-old resident of Manalapan, advised that an unknown actor(s) attempted to enter his vehicle sometime during the overnight hours. The victim reported that no personal items were removed from the vehicle. This case is pending further investigation. Patrolman James Guarino handled the report. On Sunday, July 5, 2020, at approximately 12:36pm, patrols responded to a residence located on Victorian Hill in reference to a report of a Burglary to multiple Motor Vehicles. The victims advised that their personal vehicles were unlawfully entered sometime during the overnight hours by an unknown actor(s). The victims reported that no personal items were removed from the vehicle. This case is pending further investigation. Patrolman James Guarino handled the report. On Sunday, July 5, 2020, at approximately 12:13pm, patrols responded to a residence located on Old Cider Mill Lane in reference to a report of a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. The victim, a 77-year-old resident of Manalapan, advised that his vehicle was unlawfully entered sometime during the overnight hours by an unknown actor(s). The victim was unsure if any personal items were removed from the vehicle. This case is pending further investigation. Patrolman James Joiner handled the initial report. The Manalapan Township Police Department needs to remind our residents and visitors to lock your vehicles when parked overnight either on a public street or parked on a private driveway, and please remove all visible valuables from the vehicles interior and do not leave your keys or key fob inside of your vehicle.

On Saturday, July 4, 2020, at approximately 10:46pm, patrols responded to a residence located on Holiday Road in reference to a report of a Fire Call/Structure Fire. Upon patrols arrival, the fire had already been extinguished and the damage was primarily located near the garage area of the residence. The residence did not sustain any structural damage and the cause of the fire was
determined to be from discarded fireworks. There were no injuries reported. The Gordon’s Corner Fire Department and the Manalapan Township Fire Marshall responded. Patrolman Philip Accatatta responded.

On Friday, July 3, 2020, at approximately 6:08pm the victim, a 43-year-old Manalapan resident reported an incident of Fraud. The victim advised that an unknown actor(s) obtained her debit card information and made two fraudulent purchases. Patrolman Christopher Makwinski handled the report.

On July 3, 2020, at approximately 4:05pm, patrols responded to a grocery store located on State Highway 9 in reference to a report of Theft. A member of the store’s loss prevention staff advised that a male suspect entered the store and placed various items into his back pack and then left the store without paying for the items. Patrolman Christopher Makwinski handled the report.

On July 3, 2020, at approximately 3:45pm, the victim, a 59-year-old Manalapan resident reported an incident of Fraud. The victim advised that an unknown actor(s) made two attempts to withdraw money from his personal bank account utilizing fraudulent identification. Patrolman Charles Alaimo handled the report.

On Thursday, July 2, 2020, at approximately 7:07pm, patrols responded to a residence located on Fountayne Lane for the report of a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. The victim, a 41-year-old resident of Manalapan, advised that his vehicle was unlawfully entered sometime overnight by an unknown actor(s). Personal items were reported to have been removed from the vehicle. This case
is pending further investigation. Patrolman Sean McCarthy handled the report. On Thursday, July 2, 2020, at approximately 5:15pm, patrols responded to a residence located on Crest Fruit Court for a report of a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. The victim, a 60-year-old resident of Manalapan, advised that his personal vehicle was unlawfully entered sometime overnight by an unknown actor(s). Personal items were reported to have been removed from the vehicle.

On July 2, 2020, at approximately 11:27am, the victim, a 33-year-old resident of Manalapan reported a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. The victim advised that his personal vehicle was unlawfully entered sometime overnight by an unknown actor(s). Personal items were reported to have been removed from the vehicle. This case is pending further investigation. Patrolman James Guarino handled the report. The Manalapan Township Police Department needs to remind our

On July 2, 2020, at approximately 6:04am, patrols responded to a residence located on Cozy Drive for a report of a Theft of a Motor Vehicle. The victim, a 47-year-old Manalapan resident, reported that an unknown actor(s) removed his vehicle from the driveway of his residence sometime overnight. This incident is pending further investigation. Patrolman Zike handled the report. The
Manalapan Township Police Department needs to remind our residents and visitors to lock your vehicles when parked overnight either on a public street or parked on a private driveway, and please remove all visible valuables from the vehicles interior and do not leave your keys or key fob inside of your vehicle.

These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
