Fight/Simple Assault
On Saturday, July 7 at approximately 11:58 p.m., Ptl. Matthew Mattia and Ptl. Dennis O’Brien responded to Marianne Manor; 327 Rt. 33 for a report of a fight in progress. A 57-year-old white male unemployed resident and a 61-year-old white male unemployed resident were found to have assaulted each other, resulting in minor injuries. Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid Squad responded to the scene and transported one subject to Centra State Medical Center for further treatment. Both subjects were advised on how to proceed with criminal complaints.

On Saturday, July 7 at approximately 12:00 p.m., a 52-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown actor(s) vandalized a vehicle while it was parked in the driveway of a Regency Way residence sometime between Thursday, July 5, 2018 and Saturday, July 7, 2018. The cost of the damage to the vehicle is yet to be determined. Patrolman Brian Schank was the responding officer.

Identity Theft
On Thursday, July 5 at 9:11 a.m., a 56-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police headquarters and reported that unknown actor(s) used the victim’s personal information to open a credit card
and online bank account. The victim reported no monetary loss. Patrolman Jeffrey Emslie took the report.

Warrant Arrest
On Thursday, July 5 at approximately 12:31 a.m., Ernesto Febles Jr., a 28-year-old, unemployed, unmarried, male, resident of Perth Amboy, was arrested by the Carteret Police Department regarding a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1,000. Patrolman Aaron Abeles and Patrolman Jared Coupland subsequently transported Mr. Febles, Jr. to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail.

Dumpster Fire
On Wednesday, July 4 at approximately 10:42 p.m., Patrolman Peter Bylsma responded to the Towne Point Shopping Center located at 357 Rt. 9 in Manalapan for a report of a dumpster that was on fire. The Gordon’s Corner Fire Department quickly arrived on scene and extinguished the fire. There was no damage caused by this fire and it was deemed accidental. Patrolman Peter Bylsma was the responding officer.

Theft
On Thursday, July 4 at approximately 12:39 p.m., a 54-year-old Manalapan resident reported unknown actors removed two realtor signs valued at approximately $52.00 from a Stonebridge Court residence. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to please contact the Manalapan Township Police Department at 732-446-4300. Patrolman Bart Mattaliano was the responding officer.

Harassment
On Tuesday, July 3 at 9:39 p.m., a 28-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that ex-acquaintance has been harassing him via phone calls and text messages. No complaints were signed as a result of this incident. Patrolman Brian Schank handled the report.

Theft
On Tuesday, July 3 at 1:33 p.m., a representative from the Monmouth County Library Headquarters, located at 125 Symmes Drive in Manalapan, reported that an unknown actor(s) stole a library owned Dell Latitude laptop valued at $700.00 from a locked room. The theft is believed to have occurred on June 28, 2018. Patrolman Jeffrey Emslie took the report, which is pending further investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Manalapan Township Police Department at 732-446-4300.

Possession of Less than 50 Grams of Marijuana/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
On Monday, July 2 at 9:03 p.m., Patrolman John Lightbody conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 522, after observing a motor vehicle violation. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Branson Ramirez, a 22-year-old, unmarried, male, resident of Jackson, NJ, who is employed as a baker, was found to be in possession of less then 50 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Ramirez was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after being issued summonses. Patrolman John Lightbody was the arresting officer.

Harassment
On Monday, July 2 at approximately 4:01 p.m., a 36-year-old Marlboro Township resident reported that an unknown actor(s) have been placing food orders in their name and having them delivered to a Route 9 business. The victim did not incur any financial loss as a result of this incident. Patrolman Douglas Zike handled the report.

Fraud

On Monday, July 2 at approximately 3:46 p.m., a 58-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown actor posing as a JCP&L employee contacted him via telephone advised that the victim owed JCP&L $500.00. The victim followed the instructions of the actor and rendered payment via a Money Pack card. The phone call was subsequently determined to be a scam. Patrolman Christopher Makwinski handled the incident.
