Manalapan Police Blotter, March 19 - March 25

There were shoplifting incidents at the Manalapan Best Buy and Target last week, police reported.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Released by Manalapan police, and unedited by Patch, the arrests in the Township for the past week:

Warrant Arrest
On Friday, March 23, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Patrolman Bart Mattaliano conducted a motor vehicle stop on Woodward Road, in Manalapan Township, for a traffic violation. A passenger in the vehicle, Michael Ibrahim, a 36-year-old, unmarried, unemployed, male, resident of East Windsor, NJ, was found to have a warrant issued for his arrest by the Neptune Township Municipal Court in the amount of $89. Mr. Ibrahim was placed under arrest and transported to the Manalapan Township Police Department where he was processed and released after posting bail.

Warrant Arrest
On Tuesday, March 20, at 10:51 a.m., Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis conducted a motor vehicle stop on Madison Avenue in the area of Rt. 33 for a traffic violation. The driver, identified as Juan Delvalle, a 43-year-old, married, male resident of Union City, who is employed as a driver, was found to have a warrant issued for his arrest by the Hoboken Municipal Court in the amount of $64. Mr. Delvalle was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after posting bail.

Theft
On Monday, March 19 at 5:00 p.m., employees of the Target, located at 55 US Highway 9 in Manalapan, contacted police regarding a shoplifter in custody. Andre S. Davis, a 21-year-old, married, male resident of Toms River, who is employed as a sales representative, is accused of shoplifting $147 worth of merchandise over the course of four weeks utilizing fraudulently obtained gift cards. Mr. Davis was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released on a summons. Patrolman Matthew Meyler made the arrest.

On Tuesday, March 20, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Louis D. Stringer, a 30-year-old, unmarried, unemployed, male resident of East Windsor, NJ, was placed under arrest at the Mercer County Correctional Facility regarding a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1,389. Mr. Stringer was processed and transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail. Patrolman Edward Hedden was the arresting officer.

Theft
On Wednesday, March 21 at approximately 1:20 p.m., employees of the Valero Gas Station, located at 391 US Highway 9 in Manalapan, reported that an unknown actor purchased $93 worth of gasoline and left the station without rendering payment. Employees of the business declined to pursue complaints at this time. Patrolman Reginald Grant took the report.

Fraud

On Wednesday, March 21 at approximately 6:00 p.m., a 48-year-old Manalapan resident reported that unknown actors utilized the victim’s credit card information to make purchases in the amount of $98.44. Patrolman Christopher Makwinski took the report.

Fraud
On Thursday, March 22 at approximately 10:30 a.m., a 34-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that unknown actors utilized the victim’s personal information to make fraudulent purchases in the amount of $1,600. Patrolman Ross Dessel took the report.

Shoplifting
On Saturday, March 24 at 5:22 p.m. patrols responded to Best Buy on Rt. 9 for a report of a shoplifting. A female and male couple entered the store and removed a Nintendo Switch gaming console off the shelf. The male walked to the back of the store where he removed the security device and concealed the item in his jacket. The female provided look out to assure nobody saw the male, police said. The couple was confronted by store staff before the male dropped the item and fled the store. The couple left the area in a stolen vehicle from Baltimore County Maryland. Ptl. Anthony Cascella handled the investigation.

Warrant Arrest

On Sunday, March 25 at 9:06 a.m., Patrolman Kevin Ruditsky conducted a field contact on Smithburg Road. The subject, identified as Ashley Romeo, a 22-year-old, single, female, resident of Manalapan, who is employed as a secretary, was found to have two warrants issued for her arrest by the Manalapan Municipal Court in the total amount of $4000. Ms. Romeo was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and released after posting bail.
