MANALAPAN, NJ — This week's police blotter released by Manalapan Twp. police:
Warrant Arrest
On Saturday, March 10 at approximately 6:37 p.m. a 33-year-old married Manalapan resident, who is self employed, turned himself in at Manalapan Township Police headquarters regarding warrants issued for his arrest by the New Brunswick municipal court in the amount of $600.00. He processed and released after posting cash bail. Patrolman Christopher Makwinski handled the arrest.
Harassment
On Saturday, March 10 at 11:04 AM, Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis responded to the PNC Bank on Route 9 for a disorderly person. A 56-year-old resident of Marlboro reported a customer of the bank became irate and threatened to assault him. The incident was a verbal altercation and did not become physical at anytime. The victim did not wish to pursue complaints.

Simple Assault
On Saturday, March 10 at 12:53 a.m., Patrolman Jeffrey Mattson responded to a residence located on Woodward Road in regards to an assault. A 51-year-old, resident of Wayside, New Jersey, claimed that he was assaulted by a 30-year-old resident of Manalapan Township. Both involved individuals had visible signs of injury and were advised on how to pursue private complaints. Patrolman Jeffrey Mattson took the report.
Warrant Arrest
On Friday, March 9 at 12:58 p.m. a 22-year-old, unmarried, male resident of Somerset, NJ, who is employed as a gas station attendant, turned himself in at Manalapan Township Police headquarters regarding a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $750.00. He was processed and released after posting bail. Patrolman Reginald Grant handled the arrest.

Disorderly Person/Criminal Mischief
On Friday, March 9 at 2:12 a.m., employees at The Pine Brook Care Center, located on Pension Road in Manalapan, reported that an 82-year-old Matawan resident caused damage to a computer stand that is valued at approximately $100. No complaints were signed regarding this incident. Patrolman Jeffrey Mattson handled the report.
Warrant Arrest
On Thursday, March 8 at approximately 5:16 p.m., a 21-year-old, unmarried, unemployed, male resident of Jackson Township turned himself in at Manalapan Township Police Headquarters regarding warrants that were issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $228.00 and the East Brunswick Municipal Court in the amounts of $178.00 and $89.00. He was processed and released after posting bail. Patrolman Charles Mazzatto handled the arrest.
Fire Call
On Thursday, March 8 at approximately 8:40 a.m., the Manalapan Township Police Department responded to the Manalapan High School for a report of a roof fire. Fire officials from Gordon’s Corner Fire Company, Manalapan Township Fire Company, Englishtown Fire Department, and East Freehold Fire Company all arrived on scene and extinguished the fire in the roof above the boiler room. The Monmouth County Fire Marshal’s Office responded and determined the fire appeared to be accidental in nature. No other damage was reported to the structure of the school building and no injuries were reported as a result of this incident. This incident was handled by Patrolman Jeannie Letts. Credit Card Fraud
On Wednesday March 6 at 10:01 a.m., a 45-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown subject opened a credit card in his name and made fraudulent purchases in the amounts of $4,450.24 and a $297.00. Patrolman Ross Dessel took the report, which is pending further investigation.
Theft of Equipment
On Tuesday March 6 at 2:14 p.m., an employee of Edgewood Properties of South Plainfield, NJ reported the theft of a 2008 Caterpillar backhoe model 420E, valued at $60,000, from the Towne Point Shopping Center, located at 357 Route 9 in Manalapan between February 26, 2018 and March 6, 2018. The backhoe is
yellow in color with “789” marked on both sides. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Manalapan Township Police Department at 732-446-4300. Patrolman Jeffrey Emslie took the report, which is pending further investigation.
Shoplifting
On Monday, March 5 at 5:40 p.m., employees of the Wegman’s Supermarket, located at 55 Route 9 in Manalapan reported a shoplifting incident that took place on Sunday, March 4 at 6:30 p.m. Two unknown female actors removed merchandise from Wegman’s totaling the amounts of $338.20 and $254.78 without paying. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to please contact the Manalapan Township Police Department at 732-446-4300. Patrolman Kyle Williams took the report, which is pending further investigation.
Warrant Arrest
On Monday, March 5 at approximately 8:45 a.m. a 44-year-old, married, female, resident of Manalapan Township, who is employed as an administrative assistant, turned herself in at Manalapan Township Police Headquarters regarding a warrant that was issued for her arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $145.00. She was processed and released after posting bail. Patrolman Jennie Rae Hensley handled the arrest.
Warrant Arrest
On Monday, March 5 at approximately 12:16 a.m., Patrolman Jeffrey Mattson responded to a Kingsley Drive residence in Manalapan Township for a report of a suspicious person. A 27-year-old, unmarried, unemployed, male, resident of Somerset, NJ, was found to have a warrant issued for his arrest by the Cranford Municipal Court in the amount of $750.00. He was also found to have a warrant issued for his arrest by the Clifton Municipal Court for $250.00. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Manalapan Township Police Department where he was processed and subsequently released on his own recognizance. Patrolman Jeffrey Mattson made the arrest.
