A home on Pine Cluster Circle in Manalapan was badly damaged by a fire at 5 a.m. this past Friday, May 11.

Shoplifting
On Sunday, May 13, 2018 at approximately 5:40 PM, patrols responded to 700 Tennent Road, NetCost, in reference to a shoplifting incident that occurred earlier in the day. NetCost loss-prevention officers allege that two white male suspects selected approximately $200 worth of merchandise and later exited the store
without paying for the merchandise. The two suspects then left the scene in a 2005 era BMW 3 Series, with the license plates removed. This incident is pending further investigation. Patrolman Peter Bylsma handled the report.

Possession of Less than 50 Grams of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia
On Sunday, May 13, 2018, 2018, at approximately 4:05 pm, Patrolman Matthew Porricelli conducted a motor vehicle stop on Iron Ore Road for a traffic violation. Suzette Ortiz-Cilia, a 21-year-old, unmarried, female, resident of Monroe, who is employed as order picker, was found to be in possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Ms. Ortiz was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and released after being issued summonses. Patrolman Matthew Porricelli made the arrest.

Warrant Arrest/Possession of Cocaine/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
On Saturday, May 12, 2018, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Patrolman Bart Mattaliano conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 33, in the area of Sawgrass Drive for a traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Shawn L. Moore, a 38-year-old, unmarried, unemployed, male, resident of Neptune City, NJ, was found to have a warrant issued for his arrest by the Deal Borough Municipal Court in the amount of $501.00. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Thomas J. Collier, a 38-year-old, unmarried, unemployed, male, resident of Toms River, NJ, was found to be in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where they were processed. Mr. Moore was released on his own recognizance regarding the warrant that had been issued for his arrest and a complaint summons for the drug charges. Patrolman Bart Mattaliano and Patrolman Charles Mazzatto made the arrests.
Warrant Arrest
On Saturday, May 12, 2018, at approximately 2:50 p.m., Erica N. Johnson, a 22-year-old, unmarried, female, resident of Leesburg, VA, who is employed as a stylist, turned herself in at Manalapan Township Police Headquarters regarding a warrant that was issued for her arrest by the North Brunswick Township Municipal Court in the amount of $500.00. Ms. Johnson was processed and released after posting bail. Patrolman Jeffrey Emslie made the arrest.
Residential Structure Fire
On Friday, May 11, 2018, at approximately 5:48 a.m., patrol units responded to a Pine Cluster Circle residence for a report of an electrical fire inside the apartment. Upon arrival, the apartment was found to be engulfed in heavy fire and smoke. The Gordon’s Corner Fire Company and Englishtown Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. The Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid Squad also responded, however, no injuries were reported as a result of this incident. The fire is being investigated by the Manalapan Fire Marshals Office. Harassment
On Friday, May 11, 2018, at 9:04 a.m., a 52-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported being harassed via telephone, text messages, and social media by a known subject since 2009. The reporting party did not wish to pursue complaint at this time. Patrolman Joseph Defilippis took the report.
Warrant Arrest
On Thursday, May 10, 2018, at 9:06 p.m., Patrolman Kyle Williams conducted a motor vehicle stop for a traffic violation on US Route 33 East. The passenger of the vehicle, identified as Michael Young, a 53-year-old, unmarried, unemployed, male, resident of Neptune, was found to have a warrant issued for his arrest by
the Pine Beach Boro Municipal Court in the amount of $50.00. Mr. Young was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after posting bail. Patrolman Kyle Williams made the arrest.
Attempted Burglary/Criminal Mischief
On Thursday, May 10, 2018, at approximately 10:00 a.m., a 63-year-old Manalapan resident reported that unknown actor(s) cut a window screen in an attempt to enter a Cross Slope Court residence. The window was locked and no entry was made into the residence. This incident is reported to have happened sometime between 4:00 a.m. on May 3, 2018 and 10:00 a.m. on May 10, 2018. Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis took the report, which is pending further investigation.

Criminal Mischief
On Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at approximately 9:34 p.m., a 41-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown actor(s) threw eggs at a Bristol Road residence. No damage was reported as a result of this incident. Patrolman Douglas Zike took the report.
Possession of Less than 50 Grams of Marijuana/Possession of Paraphernalia
On Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Patrolman Adam Sosnowski and his K9 partner, Grim, conducted a motor vehicle stop on Woodward Road for multiple motor vehicle violations. The driver, Alvin Arroyo, a 48-year-old, unmarried, male, resident of Sayreville, who is employed as a driver, was found to be in possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Arroyo was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after being issued summonses.
Fraud
On Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at approximately 3:15 p.m., a 41-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that unknown actor(s) gained access to his bank account information and made fraudulent checks, which were negotiated at banks in Pennsylvania. This case is being investigated by Detective Jared Aronson.
Identity Theft
On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at approximately 8:00 p.m., a 20-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown actor has been posing as him to a female acquaintance via cellular telephone. Patrolman Christopher Makwinski took the report.
Theft of Vehicle
On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at approximately 3:36 p.m., a 51-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters to report that a 26-year-old Staten Island resident took his vehicle without permission. The vehicle was subsequently located and no complaints were signed as a result of this incident. Patrolman Peter Bylsma handled the report.
Burglary
On Monday, May 7, 2018, at approximately 5:21 p.m., a 76-year-old Manalapan resident reported that unknown actor(s) entered a West Parsonage Way residence. No items were reported missing. Patrolman Peter Bylsma took the report, which is pending further investigation.
Warrant Arrest/Possession of Less Than 50 Grams of Marijuana
On Monday, May 7, 2018, at approximately 10:33 a.m., Patrolman Bart Mattaliano conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, identified as Christopher Baker, a 31-year-old, unmarried, male, resident of Howell, who is employed as a laborer, was found to have two warrants issued for his arrest by the Jackson Township Municipal Court totaling $750.00. A passenger in the vehicle, Steven Donoghue, a 30-year-old, unmarried, male, resident of Howell, who is employed as salesman, was found to be in possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and also had a warrant issued for his arrest by the Carteret Municipal Court in the amount of $120.00. Both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters, where they were processed and released after posting bail and being issued summonses. Patrolman Bart Mattaliano made the arrests.
