Manalapan Police Officers Recognized For Saving Lives
Patrolman Matthew Porricelli was honored as Manalapan's Police Officer of the Year. Other officers were recognized for the following:

MANALAPAN, NJ — On May 22, the Manalapan police department had its annual department awards ceremony. At that ceremony, the following police officers were honored for their notable acts of heroism in the past year:

Life-Saving Award:
Detective Seth Kreizman
Detective Kreizman received this award for his life saving efforts on August 3, 2018, after responding to a report of an unconscious subject who was not breathing. The subject was subsequently revived by Detective Kreizman and transported to the hospital.
Patrolman Jeffrey Mattson
Patrolman Mattson received this award for his life saving efforts on February 15, 2018. A patron in a restaurant in Asbury Park, NJ, lost consciousness and fell to the floor. Patrolman Jeffrey Mattson, who was off duty at the time of the incident immediately responded to the individual and performed CPR until Asbury Park Police Department and paramedics arrived on scene. The individual was transported to the hospital and later regained consciousness.
Exceptional Duty Award:
An award for a highly credible accomplishment bringing public acclaim to the employee, the department or the law enforcement profession as a result of training and devotion to duty or service to the public.
Detective Sergeant Michael Hoppock
Detective Hoppock received this award for his steadfast commitment and his diligence in his work on the Manalapan Township Police Department’s accreditation endeavor that began in 2015. In April of 2018, the State Chiefs of Police Commission on Accreditation hearing completed with a unanimous decision to grant the department with full accreditation honors. Sergeant Hoppock’s work and dedication to this three-year project that made this possible.
Patrolman Christopher Makwinski
Patrolman Makwinski received this award for his dedication and efforts in identifying a vehicle involved in a shooting incident that occurred in Freehold Township on May 3, 2018.
Patrolman Eric Voorand
Patrolman Voorand received this award for his response and actions during an incident with poise and professionalism. He provided needed medical care to the newborn until first aid and paramedics arrived on location and transported the baby and mother to the hospital.
Meritorious Service Award:
An award for an unusual accomplishment under adverse conditions, with some degree of hazard to life and limb to the nominee, or where death or injury to a third party is prevented.
Patrolman Kyle Earley
Patrolman Kyle Earley received this award for his actions on Friday, May 11, 2018, during a working structure fire. Patrolman Earley located a resident in the apartment, escorted them to safety, and then successfully evacuated the rest of the apartment building
Patrolman Adam Sosnowski
Patrolman Sosnowski received this award for his actions in disarming an individual armed with a handgun during his response to a call for service on August 28, 2018, with no injuries to himself or the suspect.
Drug Buster Award:
An award given for excellence in narcotic enforcement and interdiction.
Patrolman Matthew Porricelli
Patrolman Matthew Porricelli received this award for his outstanding proactive efforts in narcotic enforcement and interdiction during the course of 2018.
Officer of the Year:
This award is presented to the officer who best represents the Manalapan Township Police Department’s Core Values: Honor, Courage and Respect.
Patrolman Matthew Porricelli
Patrolman Porricelli has worked tirelessly throughout the year in his efforts to be a proactive, professional and dedicated Manalapan Township Police Officer. In addition to his daily duties, he works tirelessly in the area of narcotic interdiction and Driving While Intoxicated enforcement. Patrolman Porricelli is also a Field Training Officer, a Firearms instructor, and works with the youth of our community as a Police Explorer Advisor.
