Manalapan Police, Wegman's Give $2,000 To Feed Local Families
This week Manalapan police, Wegman's and Target prepared 20 boxes filled with food and household goods to give to local families.
MANALAPAN, NJ — Thousands of people have lost their jobs due to the coronavirus, and Manalapan police do not want anyone in their area to go hungry. That's why this month the Manalapan police officers' union — PBA Local 229 — donated $1,000 to the local Wegman's to buy food.
Wegman's matched the donation, so the group had $2,000 to buy food for those who need it. All the money was spent assembling food and supply boxes for local families in need, say Manalapan police.
Working together, PBA Local 229 members and employees from the Target and Wegman's at the EpiCentre assembled 20 food boxes (each valued at $100). Target donated toys and other children’s items, which were also put inside the boxes.

Charlie is in the firth grade at Clark Mills School, and he will be joining Manalapan police to deliver the care packages to local families.
