Manalapan Student Selected For JNESO Award

JNESO is a professional healthcare union that serves some 5,000 healthcare professionals in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

MANALAPAN, NJ —A nursing student from Manalapan has been named the 2022 JNESO Scholarship recipient by JNESO District Council 1.

Jennavieve Chadziutko, of Manalapan, is a nursing student at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut. She will be awarded the Barbara Crosby Scholarship, which is given to spouses or children of JNESO members who are pursuing a career in healthcare.

“I decided to go into nursing because I enjoy helping people, and I want to make a difference in somebody’s life. I have been inspired by my Mom and Grammy to pursue nursing like them. They support me each and every day,” Chadziutko said.

JNESO awards $1,000 scholarships to eligible members and their families each year. Academic achievement and potential, character, leadership, social awareness, and career goals are among the criteria.

Chadziutko's career goal is to become a Nurse Practitioner specializing in psychiatry/behavioral health. She honored her mother Jamie, who is also a nurse, in her essay, and acknowledged the role of unions in improving working conditions for all nurses.

The scholarship will cover Chadziutko's tuition and books for her undergraduate degree.

The awards will be presented at the Wind Creek Bethlehem Casino & Resort in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on April 6-7, during JNESO Education Day.
